Dear OVO community,
It's that time of year again: annual reports! At OVO, we are still in the midst of preparing them, but we want to share the most important with you already: OVO's impact in 2022.
In terms of fund mobilisation, 2022 was a very fruitful year. We channelled the highest amount in OVO's history to Africa. In total, nearly €1.3 million was raised through OVO for African entrepreneurial projects.
Belgian companies donated nearly €700 000 to 30 NGO projects through OVO.
In addition, individuals and organisations invested around €450 000 in 13 African entrepreneurs through loans. Another € 120 000 was donated to entrepreneurs in Africa under the Klimpala project led by VITO.
But of course, OVO is more than just fundraising. Impact is not only created by mobilising financial resources. Organising knowledge transfer, building partnerships, mentoring entrepreneurs - that too is OVO.
In 2022, more than 40 African entrepreneurs participated in our SusTech4Africa accelerator program where they were coached by some 80 OVO volunteers.
Another more than 20 Belgian students supported several African entrepreneurs in which OVO invested, on the ground with technical or business expertise.
We think this is a great result, hopefully you do too. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this, in any way.
