Pol Deturck succeeds Luc Bonte as chairman of OVO
Entrepreneurship and change go hand in hand. This is no different at Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs. In 2008, Alfons Verplaetse passed on the chairmanship to Luc Bonte. Now, after 16 years, the latter is handing over the helm to Pol Deturck, former CEO of Beaulieu International Group.
We are very grateful to Luc for succeeding, together with the core team, the many volunteers and partners, in making OVO the place that brings together entrepreneurial people in Africa and in the West on the basis of equality. Thank you very much! It is very nice that we can continue to count on Luc's commitment and expertise in the future.
Pol, like his predecessor, is very committed to corporate social responsibility. As the new chairman, he can look back on a lot of experience, but considers it essential to remain eager to learn.
He will now lead an organisation that in recent years has been able to strengthen and diversify its support for African entrepreneurs. The B2B programme, Sustainable Technology for Africa, the OVO Acceleration Fund and the cooperation with NGOs are projects that Luc Bonte and the team of volunteers and partners have successfully shouldered.
So the bar has been set high. But the new chairman is eager to jump over this bar with the entire team and further increase our clout and impact. The sequel will be exciting, because in this rapidly changing world, the challenges are many.
