In 2019, OVO supported entrepreneurship in developing countries more than ever. With thanks to our volunteers, sponsors and (core) members. We collected our specific impact in our annual report. Here we would like to share some key figures.
- Through our operations we collected a total of € 1,014,071 which went to 35 NGO projects and 8 B2B projects.
- In 2019, the OVO Acceleration Fund obtained € 99,256. Of this we converted no less than € 57,000 into social loans to African start-ups and scale-ups.
- We could only realize this thanks to 69 volunteers, 50 members, 11 core members, 50 sponsors, 7 NGO members and our permanent OVO team (2 full-time equivalents).
What does 2020 bring?
Also, in 2020 our mission is crystal clear: to boost local entrepreneurship in Africa. However, the corona crisis presents us with an unprecedented challenge. According to the UN, the poverty level in developing countries could rise back to the level of 30 years ago. So, your support remains desperately needed.
Nor are we sitting still. For our 20th anniversary there are plans to organize another congress in October with the theme: 'Europe and Africa: hand in hand'. Because we not only work to help African entrepreneurs move forward, but also so that European entrepreneurs can learn from them. To our regret, due to corona, we have to postpone this until spring 2021.
In short: OVO is in full development and hopes to continue to count on your support.
