Call for Coaches Uganda 2025

Make a difference in sustainable entrepreneurship!

From March 29 to April 5 2025, Uganda will proudly host the fourth edition of the Inspiration Tour as part of the SusTech4Africa Grow program by Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs (OVO). 

This initiative is designed to empower African entrepreneurs and scale-ups in creating sustainable businesses. Through SusTech4Africa, selected projects receive support to enhance their business models with a sustainability focus.

Entrepreneurs in Uganda will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of both Belgian and Ugandan coaches, led by a professor from Thomas More University, to refine their business strategies’.

About SusTech4Africa

OVO’s SusTech4Africa program supports the development of African startups and scale-ups, guiding them through a multi-day Boostcamp. The program covers essential areas like sustainable business strategies, finance, marketing, and presentation skills, led by experienced coaches.

After the Boost Camp selected participating companies continues with online coaching sessions to finalize a financial plan and business plan. 

Eligible projects can receive funding from EUR 5,000 to EUR 50,000 in the form of loans, supported by OVO’s business angels and the OVO Acceleration Fund, repayable over one to five years. This support aims to foster sustainable growth for African entrepreneurs.

Program Highlights:

1. Boost Camp:

• Entrepreneurial Visits: Discover Uganda’s business landscape and engage with selected local entrepreneurs.
• Boost Camp: Participate in a 3-day intensive training session led by our partner, Thomas More. You’ll co-coach entrepreneurs as they develop business plans and pitching skills.
• Networking & Cultural Immersion: Experience Uganda’s culture, and connect with local stakeholders in the startup ecosystem.

2. Online Coaching:

After the Boost Camp, your role as a volunteer coach continues to support the entrepreneur through key development stages of their project:

• One-on-One Coaching: You will work through online sessions and occasional in-person meetings with local experts. Your mission is to challenge, guide, and support the entrepreneur in analyzing and strengthening their business model. If specialized input is required, you can rely on ad hoc support from experts within the OVO network.
• Business Model Optimization: Together with the entrepreneur, you’ll help develop a stronger business and financial plan, resulting in a concrete investment roadmap over a six to nine-month period.
• Evaluation and Investment Application: At the end of the process, the entrepreneur may submit an investment request to OVO’s Investment Committee with your guidance. If the project is ready, it can receive the "OVO Certified: Invest for Change" designation. In some cases, the entrepreneur and coach may mutually decide not to apply for a loan if other priorities are identified.

Your commitment as a coach is essential to fostering sustainable entrepreneurship in Africa. Through your expertise, you play a key role in the success of the entrepreneurs we support.

Schedule Outline:

• Saturday, March 29: Arrival and acclimation.
• Sunday, March 30 : Cultural and tourist activities
• Monday, March 31 to Tuesday, April 1: Inspiration tours visiting alumni businesses/visiting participating companies
• Wednesday, April 2 to Friday, April 4: Boostcamp with Thomas More training and pitch preparation.
• Saturday, April 5: Sightseeing and networking event, followed by departure.
